In short: sign in with Google, choose the folder that holds your photos, and Confetti reads that one folder, read-only, from that point on. Nothing uploads to Confetti's servers, nothing gets copied, and you can disconnect at any time.
What do I need before I connect a folder?
Two things: a Google account, and your photos already sitting in a Google Drive folder. That folder might be one you created yourself, one your photographer shared with you, or a shared folder your guests have been dropping phone photos into. Confetti doesn't care where the folder came from, only that it's a folder you can open in Drive today.
How do I connect my photos to Confetti?
1. Sign in with Google. Confetti uses Google's own sign in, so you never create or remember a separate password for Confetti. 2. Choose the folder. Confetti opens Google's own folder picker, the same browsing and search you'd use inside Drive itself. Pick the one folder that holds this event's photos. 3. Let Confetti read the folder. Confetti scans what's inside so it can display, tag, and group the photos into albums. A first pass over a few thousand photos usually takes a few minutes. 4. Start tagging and building. Once the scan finishes, your photos show up inside Confetti, ready for face tagging and album building.
What does Confetti actually get access to?
Only the folder you picked, and only read access. That scope lets Confetti display, organize, and face tag the photos inside it. It does not let Confetti see the rest of your Drive, and it does not let Confetti create, edit, move, or delete anything, in that folder or anywhere else.
What does Confetti never do with my Drive?
It never uploads a duplicate copy of your photo library to its own servers, and it never writes anything back to your Drive. Every album you build lives inside Confetti as an album definition you view in the app, until you choose to download the finished album to your own computer. Google's own verification for this kind of read-only access, a restricted scope in Google's classification, is in progress. That doesn't change what Confetti can access today, it only affects a warning some new users may see on the Google sign in screen until the review clears.
Can I disconnect a folder later?
Yes. Disconnecting removes Confetti's access to that folder. Your photos were never anywhere but your own Drive, so there's nothing to move back, they stay exactly where they were.
Does connecting a folder cost anything?
No. Connecting your folder and viewing your photos inside Confetti is free, and you can preview automatic face grouping on your first 10 photos before you decide to buy. You only pay when you're ready to scan the full event and build albums. What happens after I connect?
