Why not just share a Google Drive folder directly?
You can, and plenty of couples do. The trouble shows up at scale. A raw Drive folder with a few thousand photos is a wall of thumbnails with no order, no way to find "the ceremony" or "photos with Grandma," and no way to control who can edit or delete things versus who can only look. Guests either get overwhelmed and give up, or someone accidentally reorganizes the folder for everyone.
A gallery link solves the "can they see it" problem. It does not solve the "can they find anything" problem, that part comes from having your photos grouped by person and moment first (see our guide on AI face tagging).
How do I create a shareable gallery link?
Once your event's photos are connected and organized in Confetti, you create a share link from inside the app: pick what to include (the whole gallery, or a specific album), then choose how it's shared. Invite specific people by email for standing access (they sign in once with a matching Google account), or generate a link that works for anyone who has it for 48 hours, no sign-in needed, then it expires.
Can guests save photos without creating an account?
It depends on how you were shared the gallery. If the owner invited you by email, you sign in once with that Google account, free, no separate Confetti account, and you have standing access from then on. If you got a 48-hour link instead, no sign-in is required at all, but the link stops working after 48 hours. Either way, saving a photo to your own Google Drive is free.
Can I control who sees the gallery?
Yes. Invite specific people by email, and only a sign-in from that exact Google account gets them in. Use invites for people you want lasting access, and a 48-hour link for a fast, low-stakes share.
What if I only want to share photos of specific people?
Once faces are tagged, you can build an album scoped to one person or group, for example "just the two of us" or "Grandma's photos", and share that album's link instead of the full gallery. That way each recipient gets a curated set instead of scrolling through everything.
Do my photos ever leave my Google Drive?
No. Confetti reads the folder you connect (read-only) and never modifies your Drive; the albums you build are organized and viewed inside Confetti, not written back to your Drive.
