In short: once your album is finished, share it with the people who were there. Invite them by email for standing access, or hand out a temporary link that works for 48 hours without signing in. Nobody needs a Confetti account either way, and your original photos stay untouched in your own Google Drive the entire time.
What situation is this for?
The album is built, maybe you've already downloaded it, and now you want the people who were actually there, parents, the wedding party, a grandmother who couldn't travel, to be able to see it without you emailing dozens of individual photos.
What do you need before you start?

Steps to share the album
1. Open the finished album. From your event, open the album you want to share. 2. Choose Share. This generates a link to a view of the album, not to your Google Drive and not to your account settings. 3. Choose email invites, a temporary link, or both. Invite specific people by email for standing access (they sign in once with a matching Google account), or hand out a link that works for 48 hours without any sign-in. 4. Let people view without a Confetti account. Either way, nobody signs up for Confetti. An invited email signs in with Google and is in for good; a 48-hour link recipient doesn't sign in at all, but the link stops working after 48 hours. 5. Keep your own downloaded copy as the durable version. The link is a convenience for other people. Your download, the one on your own computer, is the copy that isn't dependent on any link staying active.
What does sharing not do?
Sharing an album never gives anyone access to your Google Drive. The people you share the link with see the finished album, not your full photo folder, and they can't browse, edit, or download from your Drive directly. What if I want to stop sharing later?
You can revisit the album's sharing settings from the event at any time. Turning sharing off stops the link from working for anyone who hasn't already saved the photos themselves, the same way you'd expect any link-based share to behave.
Do I have to download the album before sharing it?
No. You can share a finished album by link without downloading it first, and download it separately whenever you're ready. Most people end up doing both: a link for family to browse right away, and a download for the copy that's permanently yours. A shared Drive folder hands people a raw pile of files and, often, more access than you meant to give.
